| About: | This cozy eatery is a little taste of New Orleans in downtown Austin. The proprietors pride themselves on running the restaurant like a "mom and pop" operation. It seats about 150 people at 30-40 tables covered with soft white tablecloths. The 25-foot ceilings and art deco pieces lend the space a very unique and comfortable feel. User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsCajun's Review: Gumbo's is the type that will make you want to come back for more and more all the time. The blackened Catfish with the dirty rice and crawfish Etoufee' comes with a true spice of down south home Cajun cookin of New Orleans. Rich and full flavor of the spices of the bell peppers and onions and that sweet Cayenne pepper with the Tony Sacheries seasonings on the catfish and the black tip shark. All overe any thing, this is the type that is the upscale style of formal dinning. White linen cloth covered tables with pretty red roses with a low light candle with mirrors all aroud with Gold baseboard style trim around the place along with paintings of New Orleans pictures of the southern Cajun style and life.
