Its a decent place to eat, I've been eating here for about seven years, I've had good and bad experiences with this establishment. They have a decent chicken friend steak, and good sides which my favorites are usually the corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and the fried okra but you do have to ask that the okra be golden brown or else it might be a little too crunchy. The pies are okay, but I'm not much of a sweets person as normally I like cheesecake rather than any kind of pie.

The lines can be long, and the place could settle for a makeover as allot of the interior looks like it could always need cleaning even if it actually doesn't. Other than that I would recommend this place to eat, its been around in marble falls for quite some time, and the good times here out weigh the few bad visits I've had.

Absolutely the MOST OVER RATED and "hyped" place I have eaten at in 59 years and on 5 continents. Not just a bad review based on one visit. I have been there four times, 3x because friends from out of state wanted to eat here, once would have been more than enough to me.

Atmosphere: Horrible!! Very marginal cleanliness, service inept and incompetent, Noisy!, uncomfortable chairs and wobbly tables.

Food: Poor to very mediocre. Pot roast should NOT be cooked for 5 days until it could be used for boot leather. A Chef's salad should NOT be a brown wilted lettuce salad. If you order their "famous" chicken fried steak, be sure to bring a jackhammer and have dentist on stand by as the 'crust' on it gives new meaning to a MARBLE Falls restaurant. White (chicken gravy ?) should not be curdled, lumpy OR cold. DON'T even think about ordering the liver & onions as there is no emergency medical treatment facility in town. Mashed potatoes should be potatoes that have been MASHED, not boiled and have a little milk/cream stirred in them. AND 6" of meringue on a pie does NOT make it good if the rest of the pie is mediocre and the crust is soggy! Even the cornbread tasted at best ordinary and was a bit "gritty".

Save your time and money, go to McDonalds or Taco Bell, you will definitely get a better value meal and better service at place that is cleaner and even the service & atmosphere at the drive-up window will be better!

I have lived in marble Falls for three years and have 100% totally enjoyed this home cooking wonder. There are tons of pies to choose from, home cooked specials and a wonderful warm atmosphere, the prices are reasonable and the food is great, I recomend it!
