| About: | The old Weigl family iron works no longer forges metal, but a tasty assortment of fine Texas barbecue. With walls adorned by branding irons, the motif is quintessentially Western, perhaps for the benefit of conventioners from the nearby convention center. At the counter, order your choice of sliced beef, chicken, beef ribs, pork ribs, pork loin and sausage for a two-meat combo plate completed with sides of potato salad and beans. Or make your choice of meat by the pound. The spicy sauce is a tangy counterpoint. And if you are craving barbecue somewhere far away, note that Iron Works ships their goods anywhere. |

I liked Iron Works. I got there just after closing time and they kept the place open for me and a friend. the food was good. The service was great. I even got a history lesson while I was there. Thanks.
I go solely for the beef ribs. Everything else is just average. The best Beef ribs in Texas in my opinion.
Amazing what passes for BBQ in Austin when Lockhart, Elgin and Taylor or so near by. It is even more amazing that some people actually like this type of fare. Overpriced and poor quality.

How can you rate something 5 stars when you say everything on their menu is average except the ribs. Doesn't say much for your opinion.
