Company Information: With all the black leather, neon and jazz here, one might be suspicious. Is this a trendy Mexican joint where the food takes a back seat to the slick atmosphere? The answer is a resounding "no". One bite of the Chile Relleno en Nogada is the proof; tender Pork Picadillo studded with raisins and stuffed into a roasted poblano pepper, then sauced with walnut cream. Or try the Enchiladas, Gorditas and Flautas; all make excellent choices. Sunday brunch, with live jazz, is a winner, but dinner and happy hour are the real standout events. The second location is on Jollyville Road.
Hours of Operation: Lunch & Dinner daily, Brunch Sun.

I ordered their chicken soup and gorditas. The soup was extremely salty. Basically that is all I could taste. The grease left on the container was not very appealing either. The gorditas were greasy. They were extremely soft (looked like they were not cooked all the way) and when you touched them the grease came to the top. Not very appealing. I am left wondering why I spent $15.00 on food that I couldn't even eat.
Manuel's is AWESOME! Went there with a couple of friends last week and had an amazing time. Our server was attentive, but not too intrusive, and the food was exceptional.
We started with ceviche and queso (not the velveeta-y stuff you get at tex-mex, but a perfectly melted bowl of monterrey jack with peppers and onions). I tried the "lomo de puerco", a pork loin, cooked to your temp with a chili-pineapple sauce. It is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life! My friends shared a dish called "parillada". Beef, chicken, shrimp, cactus, and peppers and onions - all perfectly marinated.
We will definitely be back!!!
Good upscale Mexican food: This is not traditional Mexican food. At least not what I'm used to. But everything here is very good. The chicken mole is great, the grilled black drum tuna is awesome and make sure you get a prickly pear margarita. Excellent. Oh yeah, make sure you just got paid because it'll cost you. That's why we only go on special occasions. But when we do, it's worth it.
