About:Pete's Dueling Piano Bar , may sound like a bar where people go to enjoy their drinks along with some soothing music. But if you are under the above impression, they you partially got it wrong. It's a fine establishment where people go bizarre singing loudly with music delivered through a piano, laughing and doin' some jigs occasionally. Pete's is not just about pianos, but a lot more to do with singing and dancing. The ambiance is quite trendy to say the least. For first-timers, it's quite a joy ride.

I normally go to the Ivory Cat, but unfortunately they have closed their doors. So my wife and I on our anniversary decided to try Pete’s. I will honestly say that the musicians and waitress were very good and I did enjoy the time that I was in there. However, I am a smoker so when I stepped out for a cigarette the door man would not allow me back in as he was “cutting me off”. I explained that it was okay and asked if I could collect my credit card and wife so we can pay our bill I was told I could pay it tomorrow. Then to add insult to injury he explained, rather abruptly, that he needed the seats.

Needless to say Austin Police standing close by and approached the two of us asking if there was a problem, I figured this was it for me. The doorman stated that there was no problem, but I disagreed. Once I explained my side of the story the officer explained to the doorman that he can not refuse me from paying my bill, yet the doorman still refused to let me in. Finally a second doorman offer to collect my wife and make sure my bill was paid. I did thank him for that service.

I have submitted my experience to their web site as feedback, but as of so far I have heard nothing back.

I believe that I will stand firm with my comments if they need their seats so bad that I am willing top give mine up for them and never return.

Best entertainment in TEXAS!: Music is awesome! If I could go to any bar in the world, I would go to Pete's! I've never had a bad time at Pete's. It is the absolute best place I've ever been too and would give anything to go back just one time! Make sure you request Pussy Cat oh and Old McDonald's Farm (I promise you won't regret it)!!!!!!!
