About:As one of Austin's favorite live music venues, this club holds around 3000 people. If that sounds like it is too large to get the intimate feel of a band, think again. The bar downstairs helps make the wait for a seat a little more relaxing and the VIP room upstairs is perfect for a great view of the stage. Everyone from Lenny Kravitz to Eric Clapton has performed on this stage. If you are looking for a location for a corporate event or fund-raiser, they do offer their facilities for private parties.

    Good Acts, Bad Sound: AMH is a common venue for many acts including Violent Femmes, Outkast, and others. It's a nice medium sized venue that lets you get close to the performer (with the only "seats" being the mosh) but the acoustics are horrendous in that warehouse like environment. Generally, it also seems the acts that play there, whether by function of the venue or themselves, don't engage the audience as well as they might.
