| About: | This sunset gazers' spot recently revamped its menu so that people would come here for the food. But even the best food cannot compete with the view. With tiered decks stair-stepped down the side of a 450-foot cliff overlooking Lake Travis, The Oasis has a table with a view for everyone. It is a magnet for tourists and locals alike. The menu is varied, split between Tex-Mex and traditional fare like prime rib and grilled salmon. Frozen drinks are a specialty, but are expensive, But who can quibble with prices when the sunset is so, well, priceless? |

Really good food but even better views! Dine outside if the weather permits because these views make you feel like you are on vacation. PS make reservations!
Oasis is a lovely place, however, I was somewhat disappointed in our seating. I DO realize Oasis has a lot of patrons and are very busy.
We , (3 adults and 2 children), were at you restaurant on Mother's day @ 5:15p. We were taken to our table in a timely manner. the hostess had another table in mind but it was several stairs and asked to be seated in the lower area. After a small time we were taken to a table that was not completely "cleaned up". Underneath was VERY messy. (i.e. used linen napkins and crumbs, and other foods). We asked if someone would clean it up so that we wouldn't step in the MESS! The Hostess complied, and said "sure"! After about fifteen minutes our waiter took our order for our drinks. We again asked if someone would clean it up. He said he would. He came back with our drinks, and said, "oh I forgot but will send someone immediately". He came back again and took our order for our dinner. Now by that time we realize that it was NOT going to happen. We thought of moving to another table, but we had two hungry, fussy children so we took the napkins that were under the table and moved the mess from under our feet ourselves!
Someone else than our waiter brought our bill, and I made my final comment about the mess. He said sorry.
Food was good and served in a timely manner.
This place is beautiful BUT the service is TERRIBLE. The food is ok but that's cause I know authentic Mexican food. Anyway, the service is the worst. I keep going HOPING the service gets better but sadly it never does and it ruins the night for my guest. Good luck on your visit.
