Ever since moving from San Antonio, we've been looking for a place similar to Cha Cho's, lots of good food for low price. Amaya's fit the bill perfectly. The difference is Cha Cho's adds a ton of cheese to their food and Amaya's adds a lot of lettuce/tomato/etc. If you are in a hurry, you'll want to order ahead for takeout. They are usually packed during meal hours - if you get there "on time", you'll probably wait about 20 minutes to be seated. I must say it is worth the wait!

Amaya's taco village has the best tacos because the shell is coarsely ground corn and thick. The enchiladas are some of the best in Austin and trust me, I have eaten quite a few around this city. Wait staff always friendly. Do not try to go at 12pm on a weekday because it is packed but around 2pm adn after, you are okay. I highly recommend this place.

Love it there everything i oder is good! I love thier tortilla soup, borracho beans, and chicken enchiladas. Service is a lil slow but it's because it's always packed they should expand to seat more people. We do girl's lunch here and we all love it.
