Overall, the patio and atmosphere was perfect! My girlfriend and I were very impressed by the renovations. On first arrival, expect to be forced to valet park, street parking is limited. Although valet is comp, you still have to tip them to park your car literally 20 feet from the front door. When it comes to Happy Hour, the Paggi House has a pretty poor selection compared to most upscale Austin locations (seriously you would better off going to someplace in the Domain). My girlfriend and I had three well cocktails and a glass of wine for $35, which is pretty steep in my book (granted I refused to buy one of the fruity happy hour priced drinks)! Our friends had appetizers, which to my taste did not add to what they spent either portion wise. However, if you don't mind forking over some extra cash for the beautiful atmosphere, this is most certainly your kind of restaurant/bar.

Perfect happy hour--the complete experience. My girlfriends and I dropped into Paggi House last week for happy hour. (New owners and recent remodel!) Comfy patio seating with a great view and nice wine. We liked it so much we came back for more this week. The staff was attentive and helpful. The cheese plate was amazing. The sea bass we ordered and shared melted like butter in our mouths. Paggi House c.1840 offers an escapist atmosphere within view of the city lights. If you can appreciate the value of ambience, get to Paggi House for happy hour...or a romantic dinner. It's a sure thing.

We were referred to Paggi House with enthusiasm, but we didn't see what the buzz was about. The service was slow and the meals were served with measly portions despite the high price. If you want mashed potatoes with your filet mgnon you will be surprised at the portion--one fingerling potato. Yes, just one. Even the cocktails are served in small glasses yet the prices are big-glass. Great deck outside with nice views of downtown, but again, not worth the price.
