The other reviews are no longer accurate, except for the food still being great. The Shining Moon Saloon recently changed hands and almost overnight became a better class of "hole in the wall" bar.
The new owner and staff aim to please and do just that. From the time you enter your'e treated as part of the Shining Moon Family. In addition, the girls behind the bar are a treat to experience.
Other improvements include WIFI, Internet Jukebox, and Happy Hour Specials on beer. By the way it is still one of the last places in Austin you can still legally smoke and bring your own liquor. Whether you have been to the Shining Moon before or not...It is well worth the visit now.

Stinks something awful: Little hole in the wall, good food, but if you want a beer and the owner is cooking you might as well go somewhere else.......and you will go home smelling like a dead cow when you leave this place.....I could still smell dead cow on my clothes in the laundry room the next day........and don't think this woman Linda is going to cut you a deal on happy hour.no such thing in this place!!!!!!!!
