| About: | Quality takeout is available for a business meeting in the office or for dinner with your family at home. The shop itself has a casual takeout feel with a reach-in case carrying a variety of options. There are a few seats to eat in, but most customers are on the go. The breakfast menu is full of croissant variations, eggs, and hormone free sausage patties. Be sure to request the complimentary salsa with roasted red peppers. For lunch, several sandwiches are offered, including a vegetarian selection. Soups are made fresh daily along with focaccia and flat breads. If you are interested in trying all types of hot dogs and sausages, this is a great place to start. You can create your own or try one of the specialties, including sauerkraut and bratwurst. |

...enter portabla. Better food than I can make, for about the same price I would pay at the stoor.. and it's done. done. done. done. done.
plus.. everyone there's really cool and nice. Totally worth while.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA rare find and unique cuisine.: Portabla is a small spot near Downtown Austin on W. 6th Street. The staff is super nice and the salads are great! I'm not big on pork but the small sample I had of the andouille sausage quiche was fabulous. The entrees are moderately priced and most of the patrons dine on the go so you won't have to wait to get a table. Check it out! Parking leaves much to be desired so be prepared to drive around the block a few times.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsYummy on the West Side: This cozy neighborhood bistro has it all: Excellent food, convenient location, extremely friendly service and an inviting atmosphere. All make it a great place for lunch with friends or for picking up a quick take-out meal. The hard working owners are busting their hump to make you happy and they achieve this goal well. Check it out.
