| About: | The menu may be broader than the burgers, but the burgers are what sets this place apart. There are 20 varieties in all, based on a thick, juicy patty medium cooked. Burgers range from the simplest one-patty version to a double-meat buffalo burger with all the trimmings. As for sides, the onion rings are an option. For those who want their beef sans bun, they offer savory chicken fried steak, cooked tender with gravy that's not too thick and not too drippy. Whatever you order, be sure that you ask for lots of napkins. |

I don't eat much red meat anymore but I had a craving for hamburger that Wendy's just wasn't going to take care of so, I did a search for Austin's best burger and headed for Huts. I had the Huts cheeseburger and a couple of rings. It was really good and I liked the "lived in" look of the place. A friend came in town a couple of weeks later and we decided a cold beer and burger would hit the spot. We both tried one of the burgers with hickory sauce and OMG it was the best burger I have ever had!!! The people next to us ate theirs with a fork and knife but we risked the dribble effect and ate with our hands. It was messy as all get out and we loved every minute of it!! I would have licked the plate if I knew my mother wouldn't somehow find out. I have been craving another one ever since and may just have to break down.
We drove downtown to pick up a CD at Waterloo and drop by Huts for a burger. I went with the Ritchie Valens and it was prepared just like I ordered it and delicious. We split an order of fries and they were more than enough for two people. Great burger, quick and attentive waiter, and a great neighborhood atmosphere.
Veggie burgers are grainy. Bread is cheap store bought. Cold Fries. Okay burgers. Two burgers, one veggie burger, one order of 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings, and one drink cost us $34.00.
Really good onion rings and veggie chili.
