User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI love Juanita's! This little haven in a railway car has it all:
First, lovely woman Juanita makes your food herself with a couple of helpers;
Second, excellent variety of breakfast tacos, some of the best in Austin, and good salsa to boot (bring the kleenex!);
Third, great atmosphere with your choice of eating inside the cosy railway car with photos of family, austin and mexican artistic personalities on the walls, or out on the almost as cosy patio; and
Fourth, the extra pleasure of being in on a great secret... the sense that the throngs who drive by on 5th everyday getting to somewhere else who have never stopped (though I can't imagine why) have no idea what they're missing. It's a neighborhood kind of place - seems many miles away from the west 6th street patios, Saturdays can be packed and a bit of a wait but that's part of the charm too.
