| About: | Neon beer signs and vintage clocks line the walls of this Austin institution, a gas station-turned-restaurant that also offers up live music. If comfort food is your pleasure, this is the right place, and if you like your vegetables, you will be in heaven. Whatever the entree, seconds on vegetables come free. Pork roast and fried chicken are great, but the chicken-fried steak is not to be missed. The San Antonio Squash will please even those who turn up their noses at the vegetable. And of course, the mashed potatoes and black-eyed peas are heavenly. Rich, crumbly cornbread comes free, but white-flour rolls are extra (and worth it). |

Food was greasy, The entire order was wrong. The white gravy was really a pink color and sweet. Really? Sweet white gravy? The fried green tomoatos were red. It was an expensive mess.
WOW..The Threadgill's of my childhood is back and in full force. I stopped going back in the early 2000's due to lack of food quality and service. Threadgill's has really gotten it's act back together. I have been back 8 or so times in the past 2 years and it has been pretty damn near perfect. The food is back to it's glorious past and the service has been fast, cordial, and with a smile. Eddie Wilson keep doing what you are doing.
I had been to this location once before and thought the food was some what ok so seeing that they had remodeled the building I wanted to check it out. What a mistake that was!Not only did they mess up my order(twice) the food tasted discusting!I havent even thought about diner dashing untill today tho I didnt the thought did cross my mind a few times threw out my meal.I would strongly recomend not waisting your time and taste buds here!
