Well,I had never had escargot before I ate at the Emerald-but I had to order TWO servings they were that delicious. The chef makes the garlic butter from scratch and the escargot are served in their shells. What a cool experience! The Caesar salad is prepared at your table and my wife loved that. This is a really nice restaurant if you want to dine-you aren't rushed-the ambiance is so European and the service is probably the best in Austin. You really feel so welcome and cared for. Prices aren't out of range-you are getting huge portions of high quality food-steak and lobster is what we had and we ended up bringing home a nice sized amount that we ate for lunch the next day. We definitely will be back-
Romantic and so elegant! I brought my family on Mother's Day and enjoyed the restaurant so much, that my wife and I decided to go by ourselves. It is charming and truly the staff are so very gracious. I tried the escargot and the filet mignon and they were out of this world. So I am honestly happy to have found The Emerald-thank-you for being in Austin!
I was at the Emerald this weekend and as always I never want to leave! I am from California and travel to Austin every three months for business. I am able to go there, relax, get pampered, eat incredible European cuisine plus the owners always remember me AND my likes and dislikes. This time I tried the Snapper Special-delicious sauce full of shrimp draped over a huge piece of snapper. Very good. The Emerald has been owned and operated by the same family since 1984. They care about their business and it is reflected in their graciousness and attention to detail. I'll be back in in May-you can be sure!
