| About: | The decor at Madras Pavilion leaves a lot to the imagination but the piping hot South Indian cuisine and the friendly waiters make up for the lack of style. So, dig into crisp Dosas with potato stuffing, and curries made from coconut, tamarind, green bananas, carrots and potatoes. Indian restaurants are also the ideal place for a quick snack, like samosas and bondas. |

Food was reasonable, but the ambiance was absolutely pathetic. If you don't care about the ambiance or looking for a takeout may be you can give it a shot.
Being a south Indian who has been to several buffets here in USA I feel I can give a fair review. The Madras Pavilion in Sugarland (near Houston), which has the same owner, cost the same yet has a more items on their menu including meat. This place was dark, had just a couple of vegetarian items and was overall SAD. Trust me, for $12 you can definately find a better Indian place.
The food here is quite authentic, and seemed good value at 13$ for the buffet. But these guys add baking soda to their food, and as a result you fill up your appetite surprisingly quickly. Now this is a tactic employed by 3rd grade restaurants in India who will offer a buffet and then make sure it makes economic sense for them.. but for a reputed restaurant offering authentic cuisine, it seemed a bit shady!
