Ridiculous, I went to the used cars just to look. I was basically forced to speak with the manager before leaving. I only wanted to stop and browse for a FEW minutes. My time is precious, if I wanted to speak with a manager I would have said so!
I read a lot of reviews on this dealership before I went. I expected it to be a very unpleasant buying experience....but it wasn't. The salesman knew exactly what I wanted and exactly what I wanted to spend. He got me the car I went there for, and even got me in under budget, with no money down. The sales staff was helpful, although sometimes a little slow at wrapping it up. Everything was handled with the buyer in mind. The new girl that does the final signing needed a little more time under her belt. She was a little new and that cost us about an hour in her office.
All in all, it was as good as going to a dealership can be I guess. We were there about 4.5 hours, which made for an unhappy 3 year old. That time could be cut in half if there was a little better communication internally at the dealership, and a little better time management by the salesmen and women. I'm happy with my purchase and the way it was dealt with. The car was better than a good price. It was the cheapest I found a 2008 Xterra anywhere. Their service department looked like it could stand a little pep talk. During the 4.5 hours I had a lot of time to observe. I saw a lot of malingering and not one turn-around on a vehicle while I was there. Being a 13 year mechanic, that is important to me. Labor rates are through the roof, and to see someone standing around at $110 an hour really ticks me off.
As long as my car lasts and I don't have to get it fixed there, I'm happy with Town North. They did me right.
So... My husband and I were looking for a car that was good on gas we test drove a few and found one that didnt have the cruise control working; the salesman said.. "do you really need the cruise control" LOL i didn't know what to say to his stupid question. I mean it's a new car of course i need cruise control I especially need a car that WORKS! not to mention he kept trying to upsale the car saying it would beat a GT mustang... which no offense to nissan my altima coupe doesn't haven enough horsepower to beat a mustang... Even i knew that and I'm a girl.Idiot. Anyway so I found a car that had everything working and after waiting at the dealership for almost 6 hours that day we ended up walking out with the keys to our new car! excited! great all is fine until.... time for the first payment (which was due on the 4th of the month; i had called them on the 22nd, which was a month after we got the car to make the payment) and I told them (the finance company) I still have not received a statement but i want to make our payment and i dont know the account number and Nissan motor group tells me they dont have our information and to wait until we receive a statement to make a payment. Then i receive a call a week LATER (it's been a little over month now since we bought our car) from the dealer saying i have to resign the contract because they screwed up on it! (they gave me the wrong interest rate and after arguing with the dealer about how stupid they look because my payment jumped $30 more amonth we said Ok so people make mistakes sure no problem we go in and resign the contract then the finance person tells me that i need to make the first payment becausse it's considered late, (this is now the 11th and our payment was due on the 4th) since on the contract we had resigned had the same date as our old contract. so we say ok fine here's the payment whatever.
Well that was 2 1/2 weeks ago and now i have Nissan motor group calling me telling me that they never received a payment. I tell them it was sent in with our contract they say they never got it. So i call the dealer and find out what happened only to find out that the person who handled our fiancing no longer works there and now i have the run around. and an upaid car note. I assumed that the check would clear shortly as i assumed it would take 2 weeks to clear. I guess i was wrong for assuming the normal process of dealerships. Needless to say I am not paying it until I have the check number to stop payment I dont want to have a check linger out there and make a payment over the phone and have my car payment hit my account twice. I'm sure you would do that same too. I will never do business with this dealer again. Not even for service I will honestly drive to south austin to south point where the people there seem to care a little more. So now it looks like i have to get off work early so that i can go down and walk in to say WHAT THE HELL IS GOING on!! I hope this dealership gets shut down they are useless finance, service, sales ALL of them are useless.

WELL TIME IS PRECIOUS ESPECIALLY MORE FOR A SALESMAN WHO WORKS FOR NEXT TO NOTHING WHEN CUSTOMERS DONT BUY ITS LIKE FALSE HOPE FOR A SALESMAN ITS LIKE GOING TO A RESTRAUNT AND NOT ORDERING WOULD YOU DO THAT TO A WAITER I RECOMEND NEXT TIME THAT YOU LOOK ONLINE AND QUIT WASTING YOUR TIME
You can't test drive a car online moron. Not making sales is part of being a salesman. If you don't like your job, I suggest you find a different one.
Not making sales does happen in the job. But being hassled to buy a car and being talked to happens when you stop at car dealerships. Which everyone knows. So the dick who posted this negative review shouldn't have stopped in the first place if his time was so "precious". Which I highly doubt it was. If it was so precious, he wouldn't have posted negative reviews. He would have just not ever gone back to the places that pissed him off.
