We have always had impeccable service and the management has been the most professional and courteous of any establishment in Lubbock. I have always enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the employees are friendly and seem to really enjoy their work. This is a great family friendly restaurant with great food and wonderful service.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThe food is great! However, the employees that serve and cook the food are mistreated from one particular manager named Chris (Slide location). We have witnessed him talking down on employees in a very demeaning manor. Also, we have heard personal stories from employees at Chili's on how they are treated by Chris. It's really unfortunate that he is managing this restaurant, and to be honest, I don't understand WHY!! I refuse to contribute towards his salary when he feels it is appropriate to cuss at the employees, degrade them, yell at them for minor issues, and threaten to fire them over something that can easily be resolved with a smile and good advice. It's so disappointing to see that someone like this is controlling the lives of people just trying to make a living.
Coming from years of experience in management, I know that one of the most important things is to keep employees positive and treat them with respect. After seeing the way that this manager treats these employees, I REFUSE to go back until he is no longer there. How comfortable are you going to a restaurant filled with discouraged and angry employees handling something that you will eat?! Have you not seen what goes on in restaurants when employees are upset?!?!
Someday, if Chris is not managing, we'd love to continue our business with Chili's, as we have resided in Lubbock for so many years, and this has never been witnessed or been an apparent issue, until now...... I want people to know the truth and to know that this guy is treating the employees here so hatefully.-

I went to Chili's to day for lunch and THERE WAS A COCKROACH ON THE BAR TOP!! The little fella just marched right by my friend and I, within inches of our plates. I work in the restaurant industry and there is NO EXCUSE for cockroaches. I can easily say that in my 15+ years working in restaurants that if there is roaches in the front of house, the will be in the back of the house and inevitable on your food!
The most inexcusable part of this whole mess is that the manager did not even offer to comp our half eaten food!? You have got to be kidding me!

OMG... this is very disturbing. I have not eaten there in a while because everytime I get the chicken tacos the chicken inside is always COLD. The last time it took way too long for our order to come out, mine was cold so I sent it back and had to wait another 30 mins for it to be returned. I sat and watched my husband eat his meal so it wouldn't get cold. The manager did comp my dinner but it doens't make up for what continuously happens.
Chris was probably managing at this time. Any other manager here is usually VERY good at compensating employees. I am not one who normally goes on to give a restaurant a bad review, but this guy is seriously the most ridiculous manager I have EVER seen! It's such a wonder as to why Chili's is allowing him to encourage employees to leave and find employment elsewhere because he is so disagreeable and refuses to respect others. If he can't respect his employees, that says SO much about his character, and it's no wonder why he'd treat a customer that way.....
