The food was very good. I had a rare steak. It was an excellent piece of meat and very well prepared. Cooked exactly rare, Pink cool center. No salads. They serve the side dishes family style. Several unique dishes. The cole slaw has pineapple and was very good. The beans are somewhat like ranch style, but spicier and better. (I am a fan of good beans) Had an order of mushrooms; Unique and excellent. Had a bit of a sweet flavor. Some had shrimp cocktail and shrimp with steak. They said the shrimp were excellent. They were large. The pecan pie tastes like it has molasses in it. It is almost black in color. It was very good. Apple pie was very good. Liked the decaf coffee. The only thing we did not like was an ice cream dessert drink, a grasshopper. Service was good. The small zoo was nice. We went in July; there were Fallow Deer fawns. Liked the displays of antique military stuff. There was a good crowd on a Thursday night, but not crowded. It is a big place. The location is out in the middle of nowhere about 30 miles East of El Paso. Check the web site for directions.
