Standard fare & prices, service was quite attentive. Fairly busy on a Saturday night with locals and travellers.
Very disappointing. I heard such good things and had a bad experience. I walked in and the sign said to take a seat, which I did. I thne waited 15 minutes before anyone came up to me and it was only because I stopped a server going by. They took my drink order, forgot it, then 5 minutes later came back with a menu and asked for the drink order again. I ordered a 12 oz ribeye that was awful. It was cooked inside the way I asked but was partially blackened on the outside. It was also literally 1/3 fat so I only got about 8 oz of meat! I walked out frustrated only for them to mischarge my credit card afterwards. Do not go there! It's a small town, but there are other options!
Great food: My family ate here on the way to east Texas from Phoenix (2005). The steak (Rib Eye, MR) was excellent, plus you get a salad bar with the dinner. At the time it was quite cold, and they had a fire going, which was nice. The only problem I saw was that you had to walk through a bar area to get to the main dining room. Too much smoke to walk through with kids. However it was not a problem once we were seated. The wait staff was very friendly. I liked the place so much we also ate there on the trip back to Phoenix!
Update: Went back there on the weay back to TX, Nov 08. Rib Eye was still good. A few more things: Wine is inexpensive, but OK, and they fill the glass to the top. If you order the Filet, know that it comes bacon-wrapped. My wife did not like it so we switched. I thought it was fine (being from TX myself).
