August 17, 2009
Dear Albertsons management:
Today, August 17, 2009 Monday I went to this store to pick up some items on my way to class at UTEP. This is very close to my home and I thought that because it was not packed with people, I could be in and out quickly.
I made my final selections and proceeded to the front. Isle 6 was lit up but there was no cashier. I proceeded to the other cashier, who was with a customer and did not look like they were going to finish anytime soon. So I waited and waited for a cashier. A female employee looked at me but quickly looked away. She obviously did not wish to assist and was not the cashier. I wanted to ask someone if a cashier was available but the employees were not within hearing range and she did not look at me again. Finally, âEricâ came forth. I ran to ring up my items, as I was already late. He slowly looked at my items and began to converse with another cashier (the one that avoided me initially). He said, âHow do I ring this up?â She laughed and said, âsee? The code is on the bag? Muffins?â this was frustrating, I was in a hurry. They, obviously, were not. I could have told him that the code was on the bag along with the other codes for pastries. It is that obvious and I have never been a cashier but I do use self service a lot.
Anyway, when they finally rang me up. She said âThank youâ but no one handed me my bag.
This is rather frustrating. Customer service is important and I miss the days where we could avoid this and ring ourselves up. Albertsons has done great to date, but I will be avoiding this location. I have not had a very good experience with regard to customer service or items in stock. I will be using the location on Montwood from now on.
I had to comment on this. I was really disappointed.
Thank you
(Letter written to management:)
I am a shopper that usually shops at Walmart. I reside on the West side but I was in the East El Paso location as I started a new position here. I went to Albertons to obtain many items needed for a meeting on Sunday. 08/03/08 8:45 a.m. at 11320 Montwood Dr. El Paso, TX 79936 Store #1016 (obtained from my receipt)
When it was my turn, BELINDA CASHIER did not greet me. She gave me a very dirty look. I felt bad and said, âIâm sorry, but there are no other check outs open.â She was not smiling at all nor did she even greet me or say good morning. She rolled her eyes (to no one in particular and ignored me when I said this.) I repeated myself, to which she very quickly and coldly replied, âThere are the self checks out stations always open.â She did not refer to me as âsirâ nor did she say this in a customer service friendly voice. She used a very rude tone. For no apparent reason. I cannot understand the reason for her obvious rudeness.
She then shoved my change in my hand and did not say thank you to me. Belinda's demeanor and unacceptable disrespect caused the loss of one customer. Please inform this cashier named âBelindaâ (I believe this to be the name on her tag, she was about 50 years old, 5â2â and medium complexion in the 10 items or less) that she was very rude and she should provide respect to those customers who do not disrespect her and who are pleasant. I was very respectful to her. She had no reason to be so discriminating to me. And to embarrass me in that manner was completely uncalled for. I did not deserve to be embarrassed by her telling me about the self check outs. I was humiliated. This said to me, âSir, you are not worthy of full service, go do it yourself, next time. You are too ignorant to know this so I shall speak slowly.â
Belinda was rude. Someone should inform her of this.
Albertsons sucks! Try getting a job there, if you are not related to anyone who works at Albertsons, YOU WILL NOT BE HIRED. This store is run by complete and incompetent fools!
