TWO STARS AT BEST
I really like Jaxson's...so this is hard to write. But over the past year the quality and service have been hit and miss. More miss lately than hit.

Today's review: At 3pm on Memorial Day I stopped in to Jaxson's (on Remcon) looking forward to some good food and good beer. Unfortunately neither was had. Here's a list of the issues:
1) It took 4 minutes for someone to come and greet me and seat me. 2) They were out of ALL of their Microbrew beers (so I had to force down a Dos XX's).
3) I ordered a black and blue hamburger (as I usually do) this time the patty was nothing more than a Jack in the Box style Angus patty. Usually it is a big, thick, and fresh meat patty. Not today! It was so small the bun covered all of it. I ended up tearing away a lot of the extra bun so I could get meat in each bite.
4) I had ordered it cooked to medium...but it came out well done.
5) The curly fries we luke warm at best....borderline cool.
6) I sat at my table with an empty beer glass for almost 5 minutes (I timed it. 4:48 min) before I was asked if I wanted another.
7) Again, I was done with my meal and beer for another 5:18 minutes before I was asked if I needed anything else.
8) The check came out almost pronto.

Overall I rate this experience at a 2-star.

Recap of the problems:

1) Long time to get seated
2) Out of ALL their Microbrew beers
3) Small burnt, Fast-food style burger patty
4) Cold Fries
5) Slow service

Pluses:
1) getting my check fast.

*For those of you who are not familiar with Jaxson's Restaurant & Brewing Company, Jaxson's is a locally owned/operated & Brewing Company here in El Paso, Texas. With 4 locations: Westside (where I ate), Mesa Street, Airport, and Eastside.

Jaxons is a lot like a local version of popular national chains such as Applebee's and Chilli's. Jaxons is maybe a slight notch above those other places, which in my opinion, are usually way too noisy, have bad service, and very bland food. Jaxon's isn't fine dining, its a place to have a burger or a drink. The beers are brewed on site, and certainly beat having yet another Bud Light.

The potato soup isn't bad but its very expensive for what you get - many El Paso places have good tortilla soup or caldo de res for half the price. The Mexican food is not great for El Paso.

I am a married middle aged woman who recently went to eat at Jaxon's at Rimcon.

My friends and I were shocked to overhear how a server was gossiping over a past relationship. We did not want to hear how her "boy"friend pleasure her with ANAL with her. I DONT THINK ANYONE DOES.

My friends and I are in the same PTA group at Western Hills. Our experience is now known by our extended community.

We asked our bartender, I beleive his name was Gabe or Gil. He said Kayla, her last name Smith.

Please enforce your employment rules on Kayla Smith.
I felt to embarassed to call management, but I had to let someone know.

If you take children to Jaxon's, don't sit in Kayla's section. What is this world coming to?€!
