Original founders Rod and Ed grew up in the New York City area eating in these familiar sandwich shops and it became a tradition for them through high school. As Rod and Ed grew up to be young men, they moved away from their New York City home and headed west to the mountains. Their routine everyday sandwich stops soon became the inspiration for the start of a new cuisine concept to the natural, but forward thinking town of Boulder. Rich in scenery, fresh air and varied restaurants already, the town was missing what had been so essential to the lives of Rod and Ed for so long. Instead of going home to enjoy these good eats, they brought the sandwiches to Colorado, and thus Deli Zone was born. Deli Zone started not from a corporate model or franchise, but was inspired from the love of these authentic sandwiches and hard work driven by this diverse team of unlikely entrepreneurs. From the original shop opened in Boulder, Colorado, the Deli Zone concept has now spread to encompass stores in the greater Denver area. Our owners and employees now represent individuals of all different cultures and all different walks of life, just like the eclectic New York population inspiring our sandwiches. We are proud to offer delicious authentic New York style sandwiches that are rich in ingredients, flavor and flair. Inspired from the original busy city, our most popular sandwiches range from the classics such as the Reuben or Philly Cheese Steaks (that our customers say rival those of the streets of Philadelphia), to the unique such as The Kong (breakfast on the go at its best), to the directly inspired such as the Giuliani.
