If you have a huge appetite, love great food, and like it a reasonable amount of money? Claim Jumpers has the best food ever. I have attended some in California and will always do so.
Always worth going to: The Claim Jumper is a great restaurant, but be prepared for enormous portions! Don't go here if you won't be going home afterwards to put the leftovers in the fridge, because leftovers are standard issue here. I've eaten here many times over the years (I remember when it opened) and have had about an 85% happiness rate. There have been one or two issues with poor service (a waiter wrecked my mom's credit card in one of those old slide machines), but those were an anomaly; usually the service is efficient and friendly. I've tried a lot of things on the menu, and there are certain things I just don't like there, like the pot roast and the cheese bread. But their rotisserie chickens and ribs are top-notch, and I learned to love roast turkey there because it's so yummy! They also have fantastic burgers and sandwiches. The pizza's not bad, but it wouldn't be my first choice there. My mother used to go for their soup & salad bar, which was one of those truly amazing salad bars. Be warned about the desserts: they are ENORMOUS. My best friend forgot this and ordered an eclair, which turned out to be exactly as large as a football. Luckily, they've started serving those micro-desserts, which work very nicely after a big heavy meal. Oh, and the lemonade is real and very good.
LOVE this place: The food is wonderful and you get A LOT of it. Little on the pricey side compared to the normal chain restaurants but well worth every penny
