| About: | If romance is on the docket, then this is one of downtown's great escapes. The boutique hotel is situated in two of Denver's historic buildings, and is within walking distance to just about everything including the Performing Arts Complex, LoDo and the 16th Street Mall. The luxurious interior screams Mediterranean from the lobby to the posh rooms, many which feature custom furnishings and the all-important feather beds. But although the hotel is perfect for whiling away a weekend of amore, it also takes care of the business class. In addition, you are encouraged to bring along the pet, and if you cannot, then the hotel can provide a goldfish to keep you company. Twenty-four hour shuttle to destinations within a five-mile radius. |

Nice decor as usual, very friendly staff, good gym equipment in a corner room with a lot of windows to let light in but unable to open windows so there was no fresh air and we propped the door open, love those french milled soaps in the rooms, we stayed on the 6th floor and walked around the room with our socks on, the carpet was so dirty that it looked like we had been walking on the street. Italian restaurant downstairs had amazing food and we ate there every night even though downtown Denver has many great restaurants to choose from. We give it a grade A but suggest they shampoo the carpets in room.
Great Wedding; Bad Customer Service: I had my wedding at the Hotel Monaco and while the wedding was beautiful, the Panzano bar staff were horribly rude to our wedding guests. It marred an otherwise wonderful night.
Beautiful hotel: Beautiful hotel..but they gave away our reserved room and then we had to fight for the only room left..a suite, instead of just giving it to us. Our carpet had fleas..I had bites all over my ankles. The restaurant,Panzano's was excellent. We probably will check out another hotel next visit.

I would have to agree with the comment below, the rooms vary in size quite a bit since the hotel structure is very old, although brand new looking inside. The architecture doesn't jive for uniform sized rooms. I would highly suggest asking to view a few rooms before checking in and pick the biggest one. The corner rooms with 2 doubles are super big. Shopping is 2 short blocks away, a whole street for pedestrians that lasts about a mile and a street subway/tram you can catch.
