| About: | For years the Mayan Theater, operating with only one screen, was a popular destination to catch art and foreign flicks. But Landmark Theaters purchased the art house in 1986 and spent over USD2 million renovating the exterior facade and converting the interior into three separate theaters. Today, the theater shows the hottest and most daring independent and foreign films flooding the market. Noted for its Art Deco Mayan Revival style, the Mayan is one of only three theaters across the nation exhibiting this design. Free parking is available in the lot at 120 Lincoln Street. |

Nice Joint: Small screen but its still a good view. Grab a glass of wine or a beer before you go on. We love going there for the stuff you can see everywhere.
Edit: The main theatre screen is large enough to enjoy anything.
A very beautiful theatre!
The perfect alternative to those bland megaplexes. The theaetre itself has a very indie feeling to it, and the arcitechture is stunning. I saw Pan's Labyrinth here and was the glad the lights were dimmed-if not, I would be staring at the amazing decoration the entire time!
I have watched movies in both the main theater and one of the smaller theaters upstairs, but both are great.
Although I am not 21 myself, I think you can buy a beer here, which is really cool.
I also enjoy the crowds here-I saw Hot Fuzz and it was no doubt one of the best movie crowds I have ever been a part of. A full house of people laughing and cheering together the entire time-the way a movie should be!
Do yourself a favor-the next time you go to the movies, go here instead of a UA theater-I promise you will have a better experience.
