I frequented this place quite a bit my senior year in college while I interned close by. I couldn't wait to take my teenage mentee to experience something new. The food was great. The service by the owner? Not so great. My mentee was working on a service learning project and left her poster on an unused table to do some work on it while we ate. The owner walked by and politely inquired of the poster. She actually stopped and talked about the project with my mentee. About 30 minutes later, the owner decided the poster was a nuisance. (Might I add we were one of 5 groups in the restaurant, so seating was not an issue.) Instead of asking us to move the poster, the owner took a passive aggressive approach by walking by our table and, without stopping, said "Move your poster. This is not your home; it's a place of business." When I tried to politely talk with her about asking us to move it in an acceptable way, she walked away. Apparently this place is so popular, she doesn't need any more regular customers. When I informed her I would no longer spend my money there, she said she didn't care. So, great food, great price, but I won't go there and support a business that has a stick up their cavity. Iâve always received great customer service at Kokoroâs.
Can't wait to get back in there again!: My only complaint was, my travel companions weren't up for Taki EVERY NIGHT fo the week!
I loved it. The lady behind the register/counter was warm, inviting and had a great deal of good conversation for us. We stopped in on Sunday, May 13, 2007.
I was in heaven!
Ordered up the Beef Udon and the Beef Yakisoba.
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!
Inexpensively priced, my meal, which was actually TWO MEALS, the Beef w/ Udon and the Beef Yakisoba, with the unlimited refills on the HUGE cups of soda (a plus in my book) ran me under $20.
Colfax is a strange neighborhood, but, I would LOVe to live there! Eat at Taki's every day if I could!
HIGHLY recommend it to one and all. It's in the downtown area, near the Ogden Theatre, up the street from the Capital building, the DAM (Denver ARt Museum) The US Mint, and scads more to see and do there.
Parking was a bit difficult, but, we found a pay lot place about a five minute walk north of the place. TOTALLY worth it.
Tempura Shrimp that came with the yakisoba and the udon was fantastic!
A very 'light' sort of meal. Nothing heavy about the whole thing when you're done eating. I ate everything on my plate and in my bowl....and couldn't wait to come back!
I WILL go back every chance I get.
Good, Healthy, Cheap: the title says it all! Always enjoyable and Mr. Taki tries to diversify the menu a lot...
