| About: | Denver's original steakhouse, The Buckhorn Exchange is located in the city's oldest neighborhood, just 5-minutes from downtown Denver -- with a light-rail stop right across the street. This National Historic Landmark and Western Museum has been serving the finest in Old West fare since 1893. User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAn Out-Of State traveler, I was really impressed by this place, on our first night in Colorado. Definitely, a throwback and not for a Vegan! Loved the food, music, and libations. Denver IPA was very nice. Had to be tried and most glad we did. Everything was truly an delicious experience. Rocky Mountain Oysters all the way, folks. Try them you won't be sorry!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsYes, this is a bit of a tourist spot. However, the buffalo that I had was as good as any steak I have had lately, beef included. Tender, flavorful and properly cooked. The service was friendly and prompt, well above average. The rest of the meal was excellent too. The price was very fair.
Have I had a better piece of meat? Yes, but not much better and not lately. And the tourist stuff was fun too. Some of it is actually historically interesting, especially if you are a TR fan like me. Do NOT give this one a pass. Try it. I will return the next time I am in Denver.-

I love the Buckhorn Exchange!It is like taking a step back in time when you walk in there!There is really nothing like it anywhere!The food is good as well!My favorite is the Buffalo steak or the roast Pheasant!
