| About: | Once upon a time, there was a restaurant in Denver. Started by an entrepreneur in the 1920s, it was called Coney Island, third in a chain of five, and it served good old comfort food. Over 70 years later, the restaurant reopened a few doors down under the management of the original restaurateur's grandsons. Sam's No. 3 still serves the same comforting food "with an attitude." Plunge into the Kitchen Sink Skillet for breakfast, while enjoying the simple, nostalgia-inducing interior. American, Greek, and Mexican fare await you at servings that exceed the prices nicely. - Theresa Ludwick |

We happened upon Sam's Number 3 by accident & we ate there at least once every day that we were in Denver. One day we ate there three times. Everything we tried was excellent. My only disappointment is that I didn't get a t-shirt or at least a picture of the place. They have great servers, hostesses & busboys. Once you try it, you'll be hooked.
Menu-Variety: I think Sam is/was Greek-witness the "lamb pops" an apetizer of little lamb chops with tatziki sauce for $12. But the emporium bends to the local taste by offering plenty of Mexi offerings. Plenty of green chili, burritos etc. The coffe is great any time. The breakfast menu makes your head swim. They caught on to the LO CARB craze by offering to "lo carb" any menu item by replacing potatoes and bread with tomatoes and cottage cheese, or adding a side of meat to your choice. Their Greek Salad is tasteful, the correct ingredients in the right amount, warm soft pita bread goes down good with lamb. Mama's kitchen sink omelette will sink a battleship--they use 6 eggs along with all of the ingredients they can find around the kitchen. Starve yourself before trying to match appetites with this bistro. You won't have to take out a second mortgage to afford, but watch the sides and beverages, it will add up.
Best Breakfast In Denver: The food is great and the best place to go to breakfast in Denver. The selection is huge and everything tastes great.
