About:Located within walking distance of the State Capitol and other city landmarks, this restaurant has built a name for serving excellent vegetarian food. The decor is bare bones simple, and the clientele runs the gamut from heath nut business yuppies to granola hippies. Breakfast, with the amazing Banana Bread French Toast,Breakfast Burrito and numerous scramblers, made the place famous. But lunch draws huge crowds and popular demand finally kept the place open for dinner, which feature tofu creations, pasta, and an excellent veggie burger.

We visited Watercourse today with my father who is visiting from out of state and has a gluten allergy. We thought Watercourse would be a great place to take him and we were wrong. There was great confusion between the menu, the staff and our waiter as to what dishes had flour in them. It was a very frustrating lunch and we thought they would be more helpful and much better informed. We will not be taking him back.

I LOVED this restaurant when I went. I was only visiting and ate there, but I would go there ALL the time if I lived there. So delicious :-)

Um...the ONLY vegetarian restaurant in Denver?

I'm a longtime vegan and have been going to Watercourse since arriving in Denver 5 years ago. Coming from Chicago and land of the Chicago Diner, I have to say that this place almost always disappoints.

The menu NEVER changes, and hasn't in five years. Boooorring. The food is either too salty, too greasy, or too salty and greasy.

Some of the waitstaff are great. The kitchen staff and those who answer the telephone can be quite rude. I've been hung up on when simply asking about the day's special. City O' City is even worse, though. I know that they're oh so punk rock it hurts and all, but come on! I'm trying to purchase food so that you can have a paycheck. No one is asking you to pretend to be someone else or to kiss butt-- just try not to be such jerks. Like I said, City O' City is far, far worse in this regard, but Watercourse has a rudeness issue, too. *sigh*

Despite this, I still come back because, really, where else is there to go in this meat-filled city? My little bleeding vegan heart keeps hoping that somehow, the food will magically be better. I can handle horribly rude staff if the food is good. I wouldn't even complain at all if the food was just good and the menu changed some.

I like the new location and the desserts are almost always fab. Coffee is excellent. Love the Oogave drinks. Want to love this place so badly...please please please please make some changes at Watercourse. They are desperately needed.

    *less salt please
    *less grease
    *change the menu
    *address staff about customer relations

PLEASE? Three stars just for existing and for not having any meat. But as far as quality goes, that's being generous.
