The ambiance was nice. The chips and salsa were great. The problem was with the food. I ordered what sounded like a fantastic seafood dish, shrimp enchilada and fish taco with mango salsa. NO mention on the menu of any additional meats. I don't eat red meat and was suprised to find what I thought was ground beef in the enchilada with the shrimp. Also, chuncks of ham in the mango salsa. When I asked the waiter about the mystery meat, he seemed confused. With a little promptinghe finally said, "yeah. . .chirizo." OOOkay, I feel like that should have been mentioned on the menu. Oh well, the chips were really good, and the $14 taco was alright.
Good food great service!: I had never heard of this place but was stuck in traffic on my way home so I popped in for a quick bite. I was quickly greated and my waiter cherily suggested a couple of his favorite margaritas. I tryed the old fashioned and was very impressed. He then recommended a few of the signature dishes and I opted for the steak azteca....Wow. I won't ramble on but James was the the best server I have had outside of a 5star restaurant and the food and drinks where just as delicious as he described them. I will be back for more!!!
Best Chile Rellenos EVER: I just love going here when I have a Mexican food craving. As the title may imply, I rather enjoy their chile rellenos. They also make guacamole table side, and have a two-for-one deal on margaritas (not sure when, check with them for details). They used to have lights in the trees outside which made for a beautiful setting... let's hope they bring that back. If you're going to be downtown, or even near downtown, it's worth checking out.
