I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Denver and Royal India is one of my favorites. I brought a group of about 15 people there after my dissertation defense and they all said the place was a great find. I mostly go for the lunch buffet because I want the saag, and tikka, and curries, and a taste of most everything else. The nahn (sp?) and chai and rice pudding are also quite good.
I am sorry that one of the reviewers ranted about the place, because it probably dropped their rating, but they deserve 5 stars.
The Royal may be one of Denver's best Indian restaurants and my family and I have been to most of them. The Lamb Botti Saag was absolutely fabulous and so was the Chicken Korma. The Chai tea is excellent as was the Mango Lassi. We had great time and the service was impeccable. We will surely return to the Royal India!
My husband and I are complete gustophiles, and have shared a lot of Indian food in our days. We LOVE Royal India. The food is fantastic, and is reasonably priced as well. The vegetarian "special" meal for $16 was an AMAZING deal (6 separate dishes, plus an order of naan and bottomless chai), and every part of it incredibly good -- especially the Chana Masala and the Saag Paneer. Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Karahi are also great. Don't know what the other reviewer was talking about, we have been really impressed with the service. Very polite and attentive, always ready to give more papadan, ask if everything is ok, and refills on water or chai.
