Coming from Chicago, Cafe Jordano reminds me of the hole-in-the-wall family Italian joints I miss terribly. Luckily I found this place, just good Italian. It's a simple establishment, but there's heart & soul in the food. If you want a fine Italian dining experience with timely reservations & a very hefty bill, go to Carmine's on payday. If you want to feel like you're eating in your Italian grandma's kitchen again, Jordano.
As a transplanted Italian New Yorker, I really appreciate this little jem outside of Denver. It is authentic Italian food and every meal Iâve had there was worth the wait. Itâs not romantic and cozy, but for the cost itâs worth the sacrifice.
As far as too much dressing, just about every restaurant goes overboard, which is why you should just ask for it on the side.
I had read good reviews and thought we would be going to an authentic, tasty, local Italian restaurant. Instead, we encountered a very mediocre meal, lazy service and uncomfortable seating. I have bever been to an Italian restaurant where I've had to ask the waitress for a spoon to eat my spaghetti with! The salad was slathered with ranch dressing, so much so I could hardly see the lettuce, let alone taste it! What happened to a nice Italian balsamic dressing?! This place was so uncultured, sloppy and complacent - what a shame - it could be so good - Denver/Lakewood is crying out for some culture!

I've never been to a REAL Italian restaurant where you would be caught dead eating spaghetti with a spoon. That's an Italian-American tradition. If you want to eat spaghetti with a spoon as a crutch, go to any old Italian restaurant. If you want to eat food prepared fresh with great, rich sauces, Jordano's the place.
