Heaven: I grew up on the east coast before moving here to Colorado, and this is the best food I've ever had. I know good pizza, and this is great pizza. The guys running the shop make my family and I laugh every time we come up, not to mention the fact that they know what they're doing.
The pizza we usually get around the Springs is a weird, they put honey on the crust, they don't taste all that good and heaven forbid if you don't get sick after eating it. De Antonio's pizza is the best I've ever found, not just in the state of Colorado, but in the United States, head and shoulders above Famous Rays in New York and Uno's in Chicago.
Last visit we bought a Chicken Marsala pizza, which if you haven't experienced yet, you haven't lived. We took the recommendation of the owner who prides himself on this pizza calling it his "signature pizza". Chicken, mushrooms, and cheese in a white wine cream sauce... to die for. My family and I love each and every thing we've ever gotten there, from slices of pizza to the antipasto salad.
I cannot wait until this winter when we will be staying for the whole ski season because I plan to set up camp at De Antonio's. If you go make sure to talk to the owner and his son (nicest people I've ever met and true New Yorkers, accent and all). Try the chicken marsala and cheese pizzas, if you don't like them, bring the rest to me in the Springs and I'll pay you double for them (so worth it) . I'm getting hungry reviewing this place right now.
Great owners. Great food.: We were staying at Snow Mountain Ranch and found this place on Yahoo with high ratings, so we decided to try it out. The pizza was really excellent, and the garlic knots too. The most enjoyable part of the visit was chatting with the two gentlemen who run the place (father and son?). They were fun and make my family feel very welcome and at home there. We can't wait to go back some day. Dessert would have been nice, but I don't think they served it.
Best Pie: I haven't had pizza this good since I've visted New York City. I must of visited a dozen times in the two weeks I spent up there.
