We walked into the bonanza and were eager to play some of the progressive slot machines. I sat at the bank of eight Flaming 7s machines just as you walk in the door and my wife sat at the other machines that were against the wall.
There were two employees that opened one of the machines and did something to it while I put $20.00 into the machine next to them and almost right away hit 300 nickels. There was a gentleman sitting two machines farther away from me that was obviously intoxicated since he reeked when he spoke. He told me that they were fixing "HIS" machine.
They finished and closed up the machine and walked away. There was no tag or placard placed on the machine so it looked like it was in working condition. In fact another couple that was walking by dropped a few nickels in and tried it as they were leaving.
I started to cash out on my machine so while I was cashing out I dropped some nickels into the machine myself. The man at the end of the row said "It must be working, that's MY machine." I told him that I was just dropping some nickels in while I waited to cash out and he said that was "OK". Since he had 414 credits on the machine he was at which was four machines away I did not think it was a problem. Suddenly he asked me to watch his machine for a minute and got up and left.
He returned with two of the staff who in very loud voices proceeded to ream me for touching his broken machine.
I tried to explain to the man who worked there that the machine was not tagged in any way and he got even angrier and louder.
When I tried to make a comment to the cashier about what happened I was unaware that the female employee had followed me to the cashiers window and she started to yell at me again.
It was interesting that the only two people playing the progressive machines when we came in were on a first name basis with both employees. The man who had been drinking was very insistent that the machine was âHISâ. When the employees came back to yell at me they opened up the machine and replaced or placed something in it.
That was the most reprehensible customer service I have ever encountered and was publicly insulting and degrading to myself and my wife as well.
I for one will never go back to this casino again. We left and went to the Gilpin and were treated much nicer there.
