I brought in an irreplaceable heirloom designer gown that came back looking far worse that it did when I brought it in, and I panicked. The staff was completely clueless (which doesn’t surprise me because when I brought the dress in it was in a nylon garment bag and after I explained that it was a very delicate and important dress she asked if I wanted my bag because they would put it in one of their own, I said yes so she unzipped it, yanked it off the hanger, wadded it up and set it in a heap on the counter. I should have picked it up right then and walked out). When the owner arrived and saw the state of the dress he insisted that the damage was done before I brought it in. When I argued he told me to leave and threw part of the dress on the floor. Finally he said he would fix it if I said that he was free from all liability. By the time the whole encounter was over I was crying. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS DRY CLEANERS WITH EXPENSIVE, DELICATE, OR IRREPLACEABLE ITEMS! They may be fine for shirts and slacks, but they have no idea what they are doing with anything else, and if you do have an issue, prepare to be berated and yelled at! My advice, go to Stoehrs!
