It's sad but I have to agree with the poor reviews. Notice that the good reviews were a while ago and the poor reviews more recent. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat and was my first date with my husband but has since really gone downhill. I was frustrated the last time we went that the prices had gone up and the quality had gone down. I ordered a tuna roll that had very little tuna and mostly rice. May I suggest Mobo Sushi on Vickers and Academy. Great sushi and good prices.
Worst sushi in town. Dry rice, big rolls full of rice and little fish(las vegas roll). The liquor selection is poor.
Figuring this was closer than going downtown, and it WAS recommended to us, we gave it a shot. To make a long story short, the food arrived quite quickly, but the attention of ther service staff from servers to hostesses, SUCKED! With all the servers standing over by the soda fountain, plus the chatting of servers next to us,it was VERY unprofessional.
So many servers, with nothing to do--at this time, it was about 8:00 and the rush was pretty much over. We HAD to ask for our water glasses to be refilled twice and then, trying to get the check was a headache-not sure who or what the protocal was for paying. The little chatty sessions with at least 3 servers continued in the soda area until I had to ASK someone to take our money.
Then, to cap off the night, the hostesses at the front desk were so concerned about getting done to go home that they could not even acknowledge our departure with a simple "goodnight". WE left, but then I realized I couldn't let this one go, so I opened the door, and VERY LOUDLY said "GOODNIGHT".Stick with FUJIYAMA downtown!
