I drove 45 minutes to eat at Manhattans last night. This was the first time since the name change. The food and serviced have been great in the past and is the reason why I am willing to drive so far to dine there. Last night was a different story. The service was terrible, which is hard to understand because the place was almost empty and there were at least 2 servers. They spent their vast free time talking amongst each other while ignoring the few customers. When my son wanted a drink he had to get up and walk over to them. We ordered a 19" pepperoni pizza. The cheese, less than 8 ounces, was so thin that the sauce and crust were visible all over. There were 27 thin slices of pepperoni, which averaged to 3 pepperoni per huge New York style slices of pizza. Dominos puts 48 pepperoni and over 1 pound of cheese on a 14" pizza! Manhatttans pizza is the skimpiest I have had, anywhere, ever! When I called today and asked for the manager a teenage-sounding girl announced, "That's me!". When I politely described my dining experience she begrudgingly offered me a whopping 20% discount on my next meal. After personally working in pizza stores for over 10 years I would be ashamed to offer a dissatisfied customer 20%! I know that it is easier and cheaper to keep an existing customer than to find a new one. Consider myself as a long time customer lost to another store.
Now its Manhattans Pizza! The same Menu and its good!
Angelos has some of the best pizza in Pueblo. But, if you expect to be served quickly this is not the place to go. Expect at least a 45 minute to 60 minute wait from when you order. If you order your pizza in advance then you will be better off. The servers are generally nice, but often are hanging their heads as they walk by you because they are afraid to let you know it's going to be another 30 minutes or so. So if you have time to waste Angelos is a good place to go.
