    El Charro is the oldest eatery in Alamosa and it has survived because of the good food, good service and a friendly caring staff. The food is excellent with large portions and low prices. It is unusual in an old house but it is one that you must try for local flavor. We have been eating there for over twenty years and plan to eat there for many more.

    It is a great reason to live in Alamosa, which will also make you come back as well. The El Charro is the best restaurant in Alamosa period. The Mexican food is authentic and the green chili is the best in the San Luis Valley as well. It is a must visit eatery.
