User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have been going to The Absolute for several years now. Always make it a point to head to Mancos when I'm staying in Durango at least once or twice. Didn't know it had changed hands but the food and service remains the same, GREAT. I especially like it because they same to attempt to use healthy ingredients in most of their dishes and baked goods. There is also a great artists co-op next door that is worth the visit as well. If you're either in Durango or Cortez make the side trip. You won't be sorry.

We absolutely love this place. We bring in our 16 month old baby and the owners and wait staff are exceptional! We try and make a trip for breakfast at least 1x/week. This isn't a greasy spoon, it's more like a yummy spoon breakfast!

We were told in Cortez to not miss this place on our way home. We pulled in to sleepy Mancos at 7:00am and found the bakery brimming with people having a delicous Sunday morning breakfast. Huge omletes, home baked bread, fantastic coffee, massive pancakes and more. The lunch menu looked even more intriguing. We were sorry we could not stay and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and wonderful aromas.
We orderded apple turnovers-Flaky crust and homemade apple filling- delicious! Giant cinnamon rolls- perfect balance of sweet cinnamon and savory roll yeasty and warm- not that mall style goo ball you have had before- delicious! Great coffee and try the creamy chai! the kids loved the hot chocolate. We bought aloaf of bread for later but it never made it home!
Friendly, nice, terrific food our only regret was that we had not come for breakfast everyday.
