| About: | Located on Main Street, this is one of those places which looks expensive but is surprisingly budget friendly. The interior's dark adobe walls and muted lighting give it a classy, southwest look. There are plenty of window tables for people watching. It tends to be more popular with tourists than with the locals. The servings are generous; Fajitas, quesadillas and enchiladas dominate the menu. A kid's menu is available. Its well-known margaritas are festive fun-fuel. The restaurant opens daily at 11a. |

I was hungry --- thought it would be a good choice. The salsa was great - the best and the water with lemon was so refreshing. But, the service or rudeness was outstanding. The waiter corrected me for using the word, "like" in my sentence and wasn't joking - he was annoyed and it showed. So rude. Then, the fish and shrimp tacos came and Rubio's has them beat. The grilled mahi mahi was dry - like fish jerky. The black beans were tasteless and just not very good. The price was okay. I would have complained but just didn't want to get into a discussion with anyone there - just wanted to leave and know it's not where I will go again.
Our evenings at the cantina were the most enjoyable of our entire vacation in Aspen. Food was always very good and more importantly the staff was very attentive and the energy of the restaurant always very enjoyable. Top notch and would highly recommend to anybody looking to have a great dinning experience in Aspen.
Do NOT go to this "restaurant." The service was almost as bad as the food. My family and I chose this establishment as our one dinner out during a ski vacation as it was recommended by someone at our hotel. We paid over $100 for cold, undercooked, nasty "food." Do not waist your time nor money. Fast food, at its worst, would have been a better choice. Once home we told friends of our experience. Their comment was: "Oh, no. We should have told you never to go there. That place is the worst!"
