What a nice surprise finding this setting one evening on our travels from Portland, OR to Easley, SC. Wines offered were a nice contrast to wines of the far west. Some truly serious products; as, their 2000 Cabernet Franc which frankly is better than Chinon, also Cab Franc, which is thought of as the typical French wine. To quote my brother-in-law, the minister wine expert, "It's deep, rich and marvellous and the finish just goes on and on."
The restaurant had a full menu choice, but obviously we caught them in a beginning of summer "training" night for waitresses. Beautiful rolling hills setting, but rocky service. Steaks ordered medium-rare came in as medium-well. Oh well, the wonderful glass of 2003 Carmela Pinot Noir made up the difference in the evening's meal. Bottom line, will we stop here on our travels west again, ~ an absolute YES. I'm looking forward to "round two".
I absolutely love this restaurant!! My husband took me there the night before he deployed. The food is amazing & they have excellent service! When we called to make a reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion & we said kind of because of him deploying & they said ok. When we got there, they gave us the best table & had flowers at our table. At the end of the meal, they gave us a free bottle of the wine we'd been drinking with our meal & told us our meal had been taken care of! They made it a perfect night & we'll definitely be going back!
