Best place in town. Very professional staff. Food was elegantly plated, and the flavors were bountiful.
Would recommend this to anyone expecially if you like trout. Prices are mid range and it worth everyone penny.
Sure wish we had found out about this place before going to the Mill and spending twice the money, while being served "Denny" quality food.
TREAT YOURSELF - make a reservation at Steamer's

Excellent. My father and I went there on a whim. We were looking for a good steak, but didn't want to go to The Mill and now that Lardos has really gone downhill, we thought we would give Steamers a try. The food was excellent. I had a filet which was very tender. The meal came with two different vegetables and bread and salad. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a upscale meal in McCall.

However, you get what you pay for. For that quality of food, I wouldn't say that it was overpriced, but it wasn't free either.

Top Notch...: My wife and I recently took a little trip up from the Treasure Valley to McCall for our anniversary and were hard pressed to find a decent restaurant on a Monday evening. Most of the higher-ends were closed as most up scale restaurants normally are on Mondays in McCall.

After consulting various locals and other visitors and the handy restaurant guide at Hotel McCall we narrowed our choices to The Mill and Steamers.

Now let me say this; I am a fan of The Mill, possibly the best steak in McCall, however we had never been to Steamers so we decided to give it a shot.

And boy were we glad we did.

Nestled on Lake St. in snowy downtown McCall Idaho Steamers is a quaint seafood restaurant serving up what appears to be Pacific Northwest cuisine, and they do a fine job.

We started off with the Baked Scallops Parmesan, it was outstanding, now I am not the scallop fan that title belongs to my wife, but jeeze, these things were good. They were served up in a scallop ramekin. The scallops were cooked perfectly in garlic butter and topped with melted parmesan cheese.

For dinner I had the Lamb and Trout dinner, it was excellent, probably not the best lamb I have ever had, but it was very enjoyable. The 4 lamb chops and half trout were served up with side of scallop potatoes and steamed broccoli. I was most impressed, a dish that represents Idaho if I have ever seen one.

Ok, here is where we get to my wife’s main course; she had the Wild Salmon Filet. Hear me out on this one; this was the best salmon that either my wife or I have ever had. It was perfect in every way. Nose, size, texture and most importantly; taste. The salmon filet was poached and then placed upon a nest of spinach and then the whole thing was topped off with a dill and caper butter sauce. The spinach complemented the salmon excellently, it was bar none, the best fish we’ve ever had (yeah, that means I had some of my wife’s salmon!).

For desert we had a crème brulee cheesecake, yeah, a cheesecake that taste like crème brulee, why they dared to combine the two best deserts out there is beyond me, but they did and the outcome was extremely tasty. The whole cheesecake concoction was topped off with a simple caramel sauce.

So you want to know what I didn’t like about our whole Steamers experience; yes, you’re right, there has to be something. Well my only complaint would be that their wine list is a little lacking. This isn’t to say that it’s bad, but personally the northwest offers up some outstanding wines that would work perfectly with Steamers fare.

So, if you’re headed up to McCall and are looking for somewhere to eat check out Steamers, the service, the atmosphere and most importantly the food were all top notch.
