Good burgers, but for a $10 dollar burger they better taste good. Average service. I have visited 2 different Red Robins in Idaho and I have to say they are the noisiest restaurants around. From now on I'll order take out.
I have been coming to Red Robin since they first opened their Boise Park Center location in 1982. So, I could say I am a long time loyal customer. I have also visited the Town Square location and the one on Eagle Rd. in Meridian. This review will pertain only to the Nampa, ID location.
ATMOSPHERE: Spacious and noisy at times, which is dependent on the time of day that you visit. A mid-evening will be of course noisier, so if you want quiet think in the early afternoon and the late evening. I suggest the later two and if late, I strongly encourage about ½ hour before closing. Please be considerate of the employees as well because they would like to go home too. One thing I miss the most since Red Robin first opened in Boise is the waitressâs used to wear red and blue cheerleader style skirts.
FOOD: The food here normally leans towards hamburgers, appetizers and drinks. I will review the drinks later. Over the years the menu has seen some changes. The basic core though has remained pretty much the same. Below are some of the burgers I have tried and enjoyed. I will also list the appetizers that I have enjoyed as well.
The original Nachoâs (which now have been replaced by the Chili Nachoâs that has only 12 chips for about the same price) used to be mounded high and covered in a little of everything. Salsa and guacamole with sour cream served on the side. I cannot say if the new ones are any better or not.
The Towering Onion Rings, I recommend these as a side from time to time instead of their âbottomless French fries.â
The Red Robin Bacon Cheeseburger, the Banzai Burger, the Monster Burger (I hope you are hungry) the Whiskey River, the Guacamole Burger, the Shroom Burger and the Pot Roast Burger. Tried them all and wonât recommend one over the other. They are all that good.
The Chicken Sandwiches are also good, as is the Salmon Burger. A friend says the burger and greens are really good and should not be missed. Finally the Southwest Chicken Pasta is good if you like Pasta.
DRINKS: The usual sodas, teas, coffee and lemonades (including raspberry and strawberry) Be adventuresome and try the non-alcoholic drinks of which the list is too many and I have no recommendations either way and then there is the BAR! I recommend any of the Margaritaâs, the Mai Tai, or whatever you prefer along with wines and beer. They donât call the place âmost Masterful Mixologist" for nothing though.
If you are really brave try this:
Order of Onion Rings and the Banzai Burger with your drink of Choice. For dessert, I recommend the Mile High Mud pie and wash it down with their Root Beer Float! Youâll no doubt have to be rolled out the door!
STAFF: Nice, courteous and friendly. At this location, I have had some problems in the past, but have been taken care of right away. Let me explain. One night, late, a companion and I decided to come here. The hostess seated us and didnât tell anyone about us being seated. We waited almost 40 minutes before ordering anything. I asked to talk to the manager and told him as well as the waitress who noticed us finally what had happened. The manger on-duty offered his apology. However, I pointed out to him that it was not our waitressesâ fault but rather the hostesses and please not to blame our waitress. I hope the understanding here was to assign blame where necessary. Hey, we all make mistakes and I have not stopped coming here, so NO WORRIES, EH.
DISCLAIMER:
Okay, I said I have been to these places before and will continue to do so. However, I must point out one thing. With so much attention to Mad Cow and itâs onset, my interest in ordering hamburgers out has diminished rapidly. If this doesnât bother you then okay, I understand. I will order other items though. What would truly make this a better rating? Fresh dry aged premium beef patties that are 100% natural.
We have been to this Red Robin several dozen times in the last couple years and found the staff friendly, competant, quick to deliver your food in short the service is great. Even better than the service are their Gourmet burgers, salads, and soups. You will not be disappointed with either the service or the food here.
