After having really good sushi and really bad sushi I was interested to see how Kyoto's stacked up. I enjoyed the beans that they offered. They were delicious. I was also given soup and salad for lunch. In all the places I have gone to, I have not gotten all 3 at lunch so this is something extra that they do. I ordered the California Roll. The price was just right but the sushi roll was a bit tiny and the rice they use is not very sticky so most of the time my roles would fall apart before I could dip them and take them to my mouth. Their California roll tasted good but instead of fresh crab, fresh cucuber and fresh avacado, it was a bit of avacado and I mean small and crab in what looked like cream cheese. Although I have had better, I did enjoy the taste, just wish it tasted more fresh and the rolls were bigger. The Hibachi grill is fun and the food there makes your eyes roll in the back of your head. It is definately an entertaining restaurant with good food, but if your a big sushi fan, you may want to try other places.
Fun and Tasty: We really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent. They have the hibachi grills that you sit around while the chef cooks for you. I even got to catch a shrimp out of mid air with my mouth. Pretty cool! Give it a try.
Just like "home": After living and eating in Okinawa for 4 years, I was suprised and delighted to find Kyoto was exactly like my favorite steakhouses back on "the rock"... steakhouses such as the Four Seasons and my favorite, Captial Steakhouse, though a little bit more expensive. The same beef, the same style of cooking, and an even better flare for presentation makes Kyoto an easy top-3 pick for me and any guest I wish to share a taste of Japan with. The rice, both white AND fried, is just like what was served in Okinawa so kudos to Kyoto for bringing back the memroies!
