My husband & I have only eaten here once, and we went expecting a WONDERFUL meal because of the word of mouth. We've had amazing Italian meals so were expecting Cucina to be SPECTACULAR. The server decided that since we'd never been there, that he would chose the best items on the menu to serve us in about 5 courses. The food was not much different than you can eat at Macaroni Grill or The Olive Garden. Our bill was nearly $200 and it wouldn't have been a big deal if the food was worth that much, but we really didn't feel that it was worth paying that much.
Prefer Fresco Italian Cafe and Lugano to Cucina anyday!!!
The most amazing Italian in SLC! Excellent service and the food was beyond incredible.
My friend and I recently ate at this restaurant and had a horrible experience! When we got there we hadn't made a reservation because it was a recommendation from a friend and didn't know we should have made one, they were rude to us when they found out we did not have a reservation and told us it would be a while. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time. When we were finally seated they placed us at a table right next to the kitchen entrance, which was fine other than the servers would glare at us as they walked past. We were not even given menu's and had to ask for them. The Servers that were not busy with tables of their own just stood there and stared at us like we were unwelcome. Our waiter Paul however was polite and very nice to us. When we got our food it tasted like something that I would get out of a hamberger Helper box, not the best pasta that I had ever had! One server was standing behind us and was playing "air drumb" rather loudly, it was actually quite entertaining but very unprofessional. The only reason the night was not completely horrible was because of Paul and our attitudes, we decided to laugh about it rather than let it truely upset us. I would never recommend this place to a friend for fear of them never wanting to speak to me again.
p.s the bread was quite tasty
