Excellent Stir-Fry,and Nice Elderly.: I love how on Weekends this place is 24 hours! It is crowded though when the clubs close.
The pie is normally very tastey and The new pies keep getting better and better!
Love the hashbrowns and try the Chicken Stir-Fry! You wont be dissapointed.
Lots of old people on the weekday afternoon though.
Coffee Shop Faire, Poor Service: Believe me, I understand that the Village Inn is a coffee shop, so I'm not expecting Vegan Paradise here. To be honest, I would have been happy with potato and lettuce, the usual veggie offering at most coffee shops.
So I was impressed to see that the Village Inn had a Boca Burger. It was late, we were wet and cold, the place was close to the hotel, and they had a Vegan meal. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, the service was terrible. As a former server, I NEVER complain about the wait staff, and I feel a little bad about complaining here since the restaurant management apparently doesn't see a need for bus staff. However, the server made many mistakes, including messing up my drink order, handing my husband an omelette loaded with Bacon when he asked for a mushroom swiss, (her error: the ticket said bacon swiss) and then never coming back to find out if everything was okay.
The Boca Burger was unremarkable but fine, by the way, but 3/4 of the grapes in the accompanying fruit cup were rotten.
Supposedly the Village Inn is famous for their pies, but we never got to find out because the watress never asked if we wanted any. Overall, an unpleasant experience, and the first time in a long time that I've tipped less than 15% (most of the time, we tip 20%). I wouldn't go back.
