My husband and I went to The Paris for their special Thanksgiving dinner. It was absolutely wonderful! Although we had to wait a little to be seated, the food was absolutely worth the wait. The staff was friendly and helpful and the wine superb. We are going back for our anniversary dinner. I have seen negative reviews of this place, but I won't believe it until I see it for myself. Several people I know frequent this restaurant often and I have never heard a bad thing about it.
I had never been inside the Paris until recently and I wasn't too thrilled with the restaurant!
The ambiance was really calming and relaxing when I was there on a Thursday.( I did have to wait awhile before we were seated though.) However the menu and the food itself was not a good as the dining environment!
I ordered a "Champagne Cocktail" which was nice but the soda I also had was really watered down and tasteless!
The pasta I ordered tasted like they squeezed 3 fresh lemons into it and threw some pepper on top! Not a good combination at all! I asked if they had any pasta dishes with chicken in them. They told me no but I could probably have some of the chicken cut off the rotisserie ones they serve and put onto the side of my pasta. I did that knowing there would be an extra charge. When the bill came after eating my substandard pasta the chicken ,which was only about a forth of a breast, cost me an extra $13!
The "Piece De Resistance" came when I asked our waiter where those dark chocolate balls, covered with powdered suger they serve you at the end of the meal came from ,and they whispered "Costco!" - Quelle Suprise!
Needless to say that was my first and LAST time eating at the Paris.
Impress your dates by taking them elsewhere, like Arby's!
Completely disappointing! I took my boyfriend to the Paris thinking I would show him what a great neighborhood bistro we have in Sugarhouse - bad move. We headed for a seat at the bar and the first thing we noticed were all the dirty dishes sitting on top of the bar in front of the only available seats. After the dishes were cleared, we took our seats and asked for a menu (it wasn't offered). We were not offered any water or a wine or bar list. I asked for a wine list and the response was "by the glass or bottle?"! Would it have hurt to just give me both lists and let me order? My boyfriend and I exchanged a "look" and both stood up to leave - no one asked us why, no one offered a "have a nice evening". We made our way to the Blue Plate Diner - guess what? The counter was sparkling, the staff was pleasant, our water arrived as soon as we sat down! The waiter behind the counter offered his favorite recommendations from the menu and then said if there was something special we wanted that wasn't on the menu, he could ask the cook to make it for us. My point is - we don't mind paying Paris prices, but if an establishment is going to represent itself as a classy place with prices to match, the counter and staff should be at least as sparkling and hospitable as the Blue Plate Diner down the street! I won't take guests to The Paris again.
