I agree with JudgeJake. Went there, service was terrible, food was worse and it was empty. Red Iguana for me, all the way.
What happened?
This used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. So last night my wife and I decided to head back there as we hadn't been to the Blue Iguana in at least a year or so. I hate to say this, but it was terrible. The service was fine, and we both enjoy the atmosphere. But the food was beyond bad. Neither of us came even close to finishing our plates (you could tell the waitress was a bit surprised). The food tasted generic and stale. My wife commented that it tasted old, like it had been sitting out for a couple of days.
We also noticed that the restaurant wasn't very packed for a Friday night, especially with the Utah Jazz playing a home game just 2 blocks away.
I'd like to say this was a one-time thing, but my work ordered Blue Iguana for us for dinner a few weeks ago, and it was just as bad. I was hoping that it was just due to the delivery time, but no. Eating in was as bad as take-out.
Please get whatever you had back! Maybe management changed, but we'll certainly not be giving B.I. another try for at least a couple of years.
We really like this family friendly place. The tacos and enchiladas are always good and we watch for the buy 1 get 1 free entree coupons in the mail. Very yummy fried ice cream.
