The experience was awesome, breakfast in bed, sparkling cider, and excellent staff. I and my wife went there for one our wedding night 3-28-08 and I'm fixing to go back again for our first anniversary, but for a longer stay. TRUST ME, Iâm not paid by them... they are the best of the best; I will forever be a return customer.
We have been multiple times and will go back.: The Alaskan Inn is a Bed & Breakfast in Ogden Canyon along the Ogden River. When my wife and I have gone up there, we have eaten at local restaurants near the mouth of the canyon or at Grey Cliff Lodge, just a short walk away. We have stayed in 3 suites ("Northern Lights," "Goose and Gander," and "The Outfitter") and 3 cabins ("The Kodiak," "The North Pole," and "The Orca"). I prefer the cabins because they have showers. All have a jetted tub, TV with VCR/DVD and a choice of up to 3 movies, a CD player along with a CD selected for the theme of the room and a choice of 3 additional CDs, and a mini-fridge (which is nice for any leftovers from dinner). The room also has a journal to write about your experience and to read about previous guests' experiences. Sparkling Apple Cider is also provided and chilled in ice. Upon request for a little extra money, the staff will also provide candles that are lit when you walk in, flowers, or chocolate and strawberries. The little money spent is a great value in return for a happy and appreciative wife. Breakfast is wonderful. The menu has expanded over the years. I enjoy the biscuits and gravy. You also get two drinks with your breakfast. You choose a fifteen minute block of time when breakfast is served. Check out is not until noon, so you are not rushed trying to get out of there. My goal is to hit every room once then pick a favorite, but my wife has fallen in love with "The Outfitter," because of the canopy bed. We will be back because of the value, the atmosphere, and the enjoyment. I cannot say there is anything I dislike about the Alaskan Inn. It has been good for my wife, our marriage, and me.
